Our climate action work supports organisations to make the necessary and urgent changes to protect the planet, move towards a net-zero emissions economy and build an inclusive, climate resilient society. Embedded in our work towards a just and resilient transition is a focus on women, youth and marginalised communities. We work across IOD PARC portfolios to link with our work on health, migration, peace building and fragility.

Our growing peacebuilding portfolio covers thematic areas including the triple nexus, countering violent extremism, conflict mediation, humanitarian mine action, international humanitarian law, resilience and social cohesion. Our peacebuilding work has strong links with our well-established migration portfolio and is underpinned by cross-cutting issues such as gender, social inclusion and climate change.

Our work on gender and social inclusion is a core element of our work with our partners and clients, as well as an important part of our internal culture and way of working. Our work includes gender audits for organisations and programmes, undertaking mixed-method research and capacity development. We incorporate a gender lens across all our topics, with particular intersections with health, climate action and peacebuilding.

We work with UN agencies and other global health organisations to strengthen their contribution to SDG 3: Ensuring health and well-being for all. Our health work includes reviewing health programmes and conducting strategic, policy, thematic and country programme evaluations. Our technical expertise includes health system strengthening, immunisation programmes, SRHR, GBV, HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria and COVID-19, as well as supporting organisations to strengthen their data and reporting on health results. Our global portfolio spans Southeast Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and the Pacific region. Health is a cross-cutting issue with links to our work on gender, WASH, climate action and migration.

Our work on migration focuses on forced displacement and migration management and spans cross-cutting issues such as gender, protection, peacebuilding, livelihoods, resilience and health. Our global portfolio spans MENA, Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin and Central America.

We work with a wide range of clients globally to improve their policies and practices regarding the management of water, sanitation, and food security. This includes both humanitarian and development contexts. Our overriding aim is to contribute to positive and lasting change for those that suffer from water and food insecurity in the face of growing pressures, such as climate change, land degradation and increased demand.
