Sarah Bolger

Principal Consultant

I am a peace, conflict and gender specialist and lead IOD PARC’s peacebuilding portfolio. I am a triple nexus expert and also have extensive experience in the links between conflict and migration; inclusive mediation; conflict prevention; post-conflict transition; CVE; resilience and international humanitarian law (IHL). Recent clients include UNICEF, Irish Department of Foreign Affairs, Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, GIZ, the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue and other international NGOs and foundations. I am a Chartered Management Consultant.

My consultancy work includes strategy development, capacity strengthening, provision of technical expertise and leading evaluations. My approach is highly collaborative and participatory, working alongside clients across a range of technical and thematic areas. I apply a gender lens to all my work.

Before joining IOD PARC, I worked in East Africa for over 5 years as the Regional Programme Director for an African-based organisation focused on community development, gender and public health. I have also worked in the Conflict Resolution Unit within the Irish Ministry for Foreign Affairs; as an external consultant for the Zanzibar Institute for Research and Public Policy and on an academic conflict mediation project at the School of Law and Government, DCU. I hold a first class MA in International Conflict and Security, and speak fluent French and Swahili.
