I am a research, monitoring and evaluation, and gender expert. I have held senior leadership and management positions in UK Government, national and international development NGOs, and the private sector. My expertise spans Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East and on international development, humanitarian, and fragile and conflict affected country programmes. Whilst my area of interest and expertise is gender, my thematic experience also includes education; employment/ labour market; governance and participation; water, sanitation and hygiene, and migration and trafficking. Clients have included INGOs, the UK Government, the private sector, the UN, and multilaterals and bilaterals.
My consultancy work includes conducting and leading evaluations, providing technical expertise, and research. A social researcher at heart, I bring an academic background along with strategy, research, monitoring and evaluation, and gender knowledge and experience to my work. My expertise is in research, monitoring and evaluation and gender across the programme cycle – from methodology and design to mixed-method data collection and analysis. I am also a skilled programme manager and team and technical leader.
Prior to joining IOD Parc, I held technical and team leadership positions at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office; the international development team at PricewaterhouseCoopers; and Plan International UK. I have a MA in Political Science, a MSc in Policy Analysis and Evaluation, a PhD in gender focusing on violence against women and masculinities, and an Executive MBA from Henley Business School
