Fortune Gomo

Consultant

I am an environmental and water resources scientist specialising in integrated water resources management, ecosystem protection, environmental sustainability, policy and governance, and the interaction of human and natural systems, especially water, climate, land, energy, food, and health. With several years of work and research experience and policy-focused expertise at local, national, and regional levels in sub-Saharan Africa; my interests lie in integrative multi-scale, multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder work to understand contemporary environmental challenges and support policy and decision-making in a changing environment.

My consultancy work includes conducting and leading evaluations, the provision of technical expertise, and research. I place particular emphasis on incorporating contextual, socio-environmental, and cross-sectoral considerations into all my lines of work. I also have a robust background in research methodologies and designs, interview methods, and in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Before IOD PARC, I worked in academia. I have a PhD in Geography and Environmental Science from the University of Dundee, an MSc in Water Resources Management from IHE-Delft, Institute for Water Education, Netherlands, and a BSc (Honours) from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
