I am IOD PARC’s Business Development Officer, with experience in business development, public procurement and tender preparation in international development. General interests include gender and migration with a professional background in the EU institutions, cultural mediation, migrant health and human trafficking. My previous work in these topic areas has been with a range of private sector consultancies, institutions and NGOs in Europe and South America, aided by my proficiency in Romanian, Italian, French, English and Portuguese and a good command of Spanish.
Currently, I am responsible for identifying new business opportunities as well as the planning, organisation and monitoring of the bidding process at IOD PARC. This includes the pre-positioning and tender formulation phases on performance assessments, monitoring and evaluation projects and organisational development work. In my role, I use knowledge developed during my time working on the European Commission’s and French Development Agency’s (AFD) proposals on climate change, natural resource conservation, early warning systems, disaster risk management, gender and agriculture as well as project management experience from advocacy campaigns on social rights, fair working conditions and labour policies. I was also a cultural facilitator in an NGO providing healthcare to undocumented migrants and victims of human trafficking. My Master’s degree in social sciences and migration studies allowed me to carry out anthropological fieldwork research on urban agriculture in shantytowns in Brazil, focusing on food security, nutrition and social inclusion.
