Bayesian Networks in Evaluation

Simon Henderson

This note introduces some of the basic knowledge to understand Bayesian networks in an evaluation setting. It draws on work conducted previously under a DFID -funded research project (Henderson and Burn, 2004) . It starts with a brief discussion of some key feature of Bayesian networks. It then goes on to give an example to demonstrate their potential. It concludes with some thoughts on the relevance to the evaluation setting.
